Episode Details

Senator Mitch McConnell made his triumphant return to the Senate floor after a three-month absence, marking his first appearance since a fall in June that hospitalized him. Though visibly frail and still recovering from childhood polio, he’s back on the job pushing the farm bill and supporting NATO allies — even as he admits he may miss votes. Doctors are helping him manage mobility risks, and recent evaluations show no serious injuries. With retirement looming at the end of January, McConnell’s return is a symbolic moment as Republicans gear up for the race to succeed him — with Andy Barr and Charles Booker already locked in a heated battle. His presence underscores his enduring commitment to duty during these final months in office.
