Snowtown serial killer James Vlassakis to be freed
Published 2 weeks, 6 days ago
Description
James Vlassakis, one of South Australia's Snowtown serial killers, will be released from prison after 26 years behind bars. The parole board's review commissioner found no compelling reasons to keep him locked up, rejecting submissions from the government and victims' families. Vlassakis pleaded guilty to four of the 11 bodies in the barrels killings at Snowtown between 1992 and 1999, and is believed to be the first serial killer in Australia to be granted parole.
