Episode Details

North Carolina is getting nearly $4 million from the federal government to supercharge its “Skills for the Future” program, one of just four nationwide grants aimed at teaching students real-world skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability — not just test scores. Over three years, this funding will directly benefit 6,000 students, many earning a Future-Ready Transcript to showcase their abilities. Already, 6,000+ students have submitted work, reporting increased confidence and self-awareness. Teachers will get new training and an online hub to assess and nurture these “durable skills,” helping every student succeed in college, careers, or the military.
