Joanna Wietrzyk’s HYROX Win Amid Mess | Wilmington News
Description
At a HYROX event in Beijing, Aussie athlete Joanna Wietrzyk stunned the crowd by winning despite suffering a mid-race accident—complete with diarrhea—and finishing in 1:01:23. Undeterred, she posted “a win is a win” before deleting it amid backlash over hygiene concerns. The incident has sparked debate: is her grit admirable or gross? HYROX admits their elite vs. mass-participation protocols were blurred, promising to review procedures to balance athletic determination with competition integrity.
