The Essence of Reiki is the connection of your own personal life energy with the greater Universal life force. When you learn Reiki, the teacher or learning method is secondary to this primary connection.

If you are totally new to Reiki and energy work, it makes sense you would want more guidance and a teacher who can provide support, tips, practice, and reassurance. In this case, a face to face class with teacher interaction and post-class support makes the most sense.

If you are already experienced with energy work, or trust your own intuition, it makes sense you would want more freedom to explore your connection based on your own philosophy and wisdom. In this case the teacher is secondary, you could easily do it online, or via self-attunement.

There is no “right” technology or way to do Reiki. There is only your personal relationship with Reiki and how it best works for you. Trust your intuition, your inner wisdom and be open to experiment and be playful.
