Saban’s Playoff Proposal Sparks Debate | Wilmington News
Description
College football exploded with chaos last weekend—Oregon stunned by Oklahoma State, Michigan crushed No. 11 Oklahoma, and Texas pulled off a jaw-dropping comeback against Ohio State. The madness reignited debate over the playoff system, with Nick Saban arguing that strength of schedule must matter more: close losses to elite teams should count heavier than blowout wins over weak opponents. But measuring “quality wins” is messy, prone to bias, and the current system’s balance is far from perfect. The quest for a fair, accurate playoff ranking? Still very much in flux.
