On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden were killed hours apart inside the house. Suspicion fell on Andrew's daughter Lizzie, yet investigators found no eyewitness, no conclusively identified murder weapon, and no bloodstained clothing tying her to the attacks. Lizzie Borden was tried and acquitted in 1893.

This historical true crime documentary reconstructs the murder timeline, disputed barn alibi, missing note, prussic acid allegation, burned dress, handleless hatchet, trial testimony, acquittal, and the nursery rhyme that turned a complicated case into American folklore.
