Description
If you're a Christian, you probably do have a genuine desire to worship and obey God. But there's one three-letter word that keeps getting in the way. In this episode, we continue our Systematic Theology series by tackling sin head-on — starting with the ways we all try to rebrand it as a "struggle" or a "character opportunity" rather than call it what it is.
We define sin biblically (any failure to conform to the moral law of God, in act, attitude, or nature), trace it back to Satan's rebellion before it ever reached the Garden, and work through Romans 5 on why Adam's sin became ours. We also walk through four ways Scripture pictures sin — a burden, a stain, slavery, and a debt — and land on one of the most important corrections in the whole episode: forgiveness doesn't mean God erased the debt. It means the debt was paid in full. We close with Joseph and his brothers, and why God often leads us through a real process toward repentance rather than an instant clean slate.
