Description

What if your skin is doing far more than protecting your body? From nervous system signalling to immune function, the health of your skin may influence much more than most people realize.

In this episode, I am talking to Jodi Scott, co-founder of Green Goo. We explore the connection between skin health, the nervous system, herbal first aid, inflammation, and why reconnecting with plants and nature can support overall wellness. Jodi also shares practical ways to build a natural first aid kit and simple daily habits that can support both physical and mental health.

Jodi and I talk about:

  • Why the skin is closely connected to the nervous system, immune system, and overall health
  • How everyday skincare products may influence the body's stress response
  • The role of herbs in plant-based first aid and wound care
  • Why calendula, yarrow, chamomile, arnica, and plantain are commonly used in herbal skincare
  • How nourishing the skin may support hydration, skin barrier health, and inflammation management
  • The connection between chronic skin issues and overall wellness
  • Simple ways to incorporate herbs into daily life through teas, tinctures, and skincare
  • How mindful moments can help regulate the nervous system
  • Jodi's SHAMAN framework for supporting everyday wellness
  • Why nature plays an important role in stress management and recovery
  • How to create a simple, versatile natural first aid kit for the whole family
  • Considerations when introducing herbal products to babies and children

Jodi Scott is the co-founder of Green Goo, a plant-based first aid and skincare company she built alongside her mother and sister. With a background in biology, health psychology, and the mind-body connection, she is passionate about helping people understand the relationship between skin health, nervous system regulation, and overall wellbeing.

After growing Green Goo from handmade herbal infusions in a family kitchen into a nationally distributed brand, Jodi continues to advocate for plant-based wellness and whole-person healing. Living and working on a family farm, she helps people reconnect with nature, build confidence in herbal remedies, and approach health with curiosity, compassion, and practicality.
