Episode Details

Episode two of Spooky Season covers a case from April 1943, when four boys trespassing in Hagley Wood, Worcestershire, discovered a woman's skeleton stuffed inside a hollow wych elm...her identity unknown, her killer never caught. The cloth forced into her mouth confirmed murder, but 3,000 missing-persons reports and a nationwide dental search led nowhere. In the silence, theories multiplied: a witchcraft ritual, a Nazi spy, and an ordinary woman history was ready to forget.
