A Reflection For When Our Priorities Are Out Of Order
Sometimes our priorities get out of order and we chase the wrong things. And the consequences can be pretty severe.
Nevertheless, the scriptures declare:
“God is passionately committed to us, and attends even to the generational burdens created by our wrongdoing, and remains steadfast in loving kindness across thousands of generations.”
— based on Deuteronomy 5:9–10
Unspoken Notes:
I the Lord your God am passionately faithful/zealous (קַנָּא, qannāʾ), and attend to (פָּקַד, pāqad) the wrongdoing and the burdens/consequences (עָוֹן, ʿāwōn) that human wrongdoing generates across generations, and continue to show steadfast love (חֶסֶד, ḥesed) for thousands of generations of those who love me and keep my commandments — that is, those who keep living in love.
