DM Mike Here!

Welcome back to the pod! I’m Mike Dreyden Figueroa and this is Unscripted and Unrehearsed, where I give you my take on events of the day, things that I’ve seen, heard and experienced.

I came across an article that said, from adult entertainment to mainstream media, I’m one of a handful of former queer adult stars who have redefined queer visibility in mainstream… “Mike Dreyden transitioned from the hardcore fringes to mainstream prestige, forcing us to confront how adult performers actually pioneered modern queer visibility, questioning if corporate sanitization erases the gritty, radical authenticity of our pioneers. It’s time we credit the subculture for shaping today’s acceptable media landscape.” What the whaaaa? Ok! Lets talk about how some of us have successfully pivoted and there-by changed the perception of adult performers, but first…

WEEK IN REVIEW: New Jersey Assemblyman Alex Sauickie, introduced legislation in early May 2026 that would provide a state tax credit for pet owners. BDX DROIDS ARE HERE!!! iRobots is real y’all! David Muir was in China for that summit and checked out an AI developers conference.

For decades, adult performers, especially queer performers, kept what we do/did in the shadows. If you were in a nine to five or in corporate profession while doing adult films there was NO WAY you wanted it getting out. Not so much today. Today we are witnessing a historic shift where these creators are moving from niche adult spaces to influential roles in fashion, film, and social activism.

TOPIC 1: Who are we, these pioneers of modern queer visibility?
TOPIC 2: Hidden in the shadows for decades…
TOPIC 3: Driving the conversation in mainstream media.

NOW YOU TELL ME: Who were your favorite adult performers? Do you still watch them? How many DVDs/Downloads of theirs do you still have? Do you even care… no judgement.
