The Untold 9/11 Boat Rescue | Wilmington News
Description
A gripping new short film, “Boatlift 9/11,” reimagines the maritime rescue efforts of 9/11 as an “American Dunkirk,” following a tugboat crew and a determined captain’s daughter as they brave chaos to save lives stranded in lower Manhattan. Shot on the Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC—because the Hudson was too icy—the film captures raw emotion and heroism through Sofia Helin’s powerful performance and producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis’s personal mission to honor unsung first responders. Streaming on Pure Flix, it’s a moving tribute to ordinary people who became extraordinary in the face of disaster.
