Episode Details

A real conversation about stepping away from a lifelong Southern Baptist upbringing around age 33 — right in the window of a third Jupiter return, the same stretch traditionally tied to the "Christ age" and a real reformation of belief. What started as research into history and inherited teachings led to a genuine, lonely unraveling — toying with the decision for nearly a year before finally letting go completely, then moving into oracle cards and eventually tarot as new tools for divination. The process wasn't easy or quick, and it wasn't universally supported — family reactions ranged from confusion to outright rejection, framing the new practice as demonic rather than simply a different tool for answers. Know thyself. Balance your energy.

Takeaways

1. A real case study: someone stepped away from lifelong Southern Baptist practice around age 33 — right within the window of a third Jupiter return, also traditionally called the "Christ age."
2. The break wasn't sudden — nearly a year of going back and forth preceded the final decision, driven by research into history and a growing sense that inherited religious teaching didn't hold up.
3. The transition moved from Oracle cards (softer, more solutions-based messaging) into tarot (more direct and harsher truth) within a few months of leaving church, illustrating how a belief system in transition often gets rebuilt in stages rather than all at once.
4. The process was described as lonely and isolating — difficult to share with family or close friends without being seen as having "something wrong," with at least one parent framing the new spiritual practice as demonic rather than a legitimate tool for divination.
