What would you do if you received a desperate 911-style radio call from deep inside a forbidden forest… from people who were never supposed to be there?

David Reid has spent twenty-two years working as a senior park ranger at Blackwood Ridge. He knows the wilderness, the trails, and the dangers hidden throughout the mountains. But there is one place even experienced rangers avoid: Sector 9.

Closed since the late 1970s, Sector 9 is surrounded by a rusted iron fence and warnings telling everyone to KEEP OUT. Officially, the area is considered too dangerous because of sinkholes, unstable terrain, and unpredictable weather.

Then one freezing October evening, David receives a terrifying radio transmission.

A young girl is trapped somewhere inside the restricted woods.

Her friends are injured.

They have fallen into a hole.

And they need help.

Ignoring the danger, David enters Sector 9 alone.

What begins as a park ranger rescue mission quickly becomes a nightmare involving a mysterious forest, an abandoned underground location, strange disappearances, and something lurking in the darkness that should not exist.
