About This Podcast — We Do Not Know How, Part 4: You Can’t Grow Someone Else
In Part 4 of We Do Not Know How, Doc & Coach explore a difficult lesson in spiritual growth: you can’t grow someone else. Through Jesus’ teaching of the vine and branches in John 15:1–5, we discover that God is the gardener, Jesus is the vine, and our responsibility is to remain connected—not to control another person’s journey. Whether in our families, relationships, workplaces, or communities, we can encourage, love, support, and plant seeds, but we cannot force someone else to grow on our timetable or according to our expectations. Sometimes faith means taking our hands off, trusting God with their growth, and allowing Him to continue pruning and growing us in the process. Stay connected to the Vine, tend to your own branch, and let God be the gardener.
Jesus showed us, through His ministry, how to be obedient and to submit to God in ALL circumstances. God is constantly working on us, in us, and through us.
