#46 - After the Towers Fell, A Generation Answered the Call

Published 16 hours ago
Description

Rep. Matt Van Epps is joined by fellow Army helicopter pilot and Congressman Gabe Evans to mark 25 years since September 11th and trace how that day reshaped their lives and the country's approach to national security.

Both Members remember exactly where they were that morning, Van Epps as a freshman at West Point watching the second plane hit on a classroom TV, Evans as a 15 year old glued to the living room television, and they walk through how 9/11 set the course for their eventual service as Army aviators in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They trace the roots of al Qaeda back through Desert Storm, the first World Trade Center bombing, and the Afghan-Soviet war, then connect that history directly to the failures of the Obama-Biden and Biden-Harris administrations, from Benghazi to the disastrous Abbey Gate withdrawal that killed 13 U.S. service members and 170 civilians.
