Sl: Luka je stal na robu zlatega peska, kjer se je plaža srečevala z modro vodo.
En: Luka stood on the edge of the golden sand, where the beach met the blue water.

Sl: Sonce je sijalo močno, a prijetno, in veter je nežno pihal, nosil s seboj vonj po morju.
En: The sun shone brightly yet pleasantly, and the wind blew gently, carrying the scent of the sea.

Sl: Za njim je ležala šola, zgradba, ki je bila danes polna življenja, ko so se šolarji premikali po jesensko obarvanem dvorišču.
En: Behind him was the school, a building full of life today, as the students moved across the autumn-colored courtyard.

Sl: Luka je bil nemiren.
En: Luka felt restless.

Sl: Prvi dan srednje šole.
En: The first day of high school.

Sl: Njegovo srce je hitreje bilo, ko je opazoval sošolce.
En: His heart beat faster as he observed his classmates.

Sl: Nekateri so se smejali, nekateri govorili, vsi pa so že našli svoje majhne skupinice.
En: Some were laughing, some talking, but all had already found their small groups.

Sl: Luka si je želel najti prijatelje, pa vendar ga je bilo strah, da ga ne bi sprejeli.
En: Luka wanted to find friends, but he was afraid of not being accepted.

Sl: Bil je nekoliko sramežljiv in pogosto ni vedel, kako začeti pogovor.
En: He was somewhat shy and often didn't know how to start a conversation.

Sl: Odločil se je, da ne bo stal ob strani.
En: He decided not to stand aside.

Sl: V bližini je opazil skupino, ki se je zdela prijazna.
En: Nearby, he noticed a group that seemed friendly.

Sl: Z globokim vdihom je Luka naredil prvi korak proti njim.
En: With a deep breath, Luka took the first step toward them.

Sl: Srce mu je še bolj divje bilo.
En: His heart beat even more wildly.

Sl: "Živjo," je Luka stisnil iz sebe, ko se je približal.
En: "Hi," Luka squeezed out as he approached.

Sl: "Ali je tukaj prosto?"
En: "Is there space here?"

Sl: Ana, dekle s svetlimi lasmi in velikim nasmehom, je takoj odgovorila.
En: Ana, a girl with light hair and a big smile, immediately replied.

Sl: "Seveda! Pridi, sedi z nami."
En: "Of course! Come, sit with us."

Sl: Matej, ki je sedel zraven nje, se je nasmehnil in prikimal.
En: Matej, who was sitting next to her, smiled and nodded.

Sl: V skupini jih je bilo še nekaj, vsi so bili videti prijazni.
En: There were a few more in the group, and they all looked friendly.

Sl: Pogovor se je začel nekoliko nerodno, a počasi je tekel.
En: The conversation started a bit awkwardly, but slowly it flowed.

Sl: Luka je našel nekaj smešnih zgodb iz preteklosti in kmalu so se vsi smejali.
En: Luka found a few funny stories from the past, and soon everyone was laughing.

Sl: Ana mu je pripovedovala o svojih najljubših krajih v Sloveniji, Matej pa o svojih dogodivščinah na kolesu.
En: Ana told him about her favorite places in Slovenia, and Matej about his cycling adventures.

Sl: Luka s časom ni več čutil sramežljivosti.
En: In time, Luka no longer felt shy.

Sl: Ko se je šolski zvonec oglasil in je skupina vstala, da bi šli na malico, se je Luka počutil drugače.
En: When the school bell rang and the group stood to go to lunch, Luka felt different.
