September 10 | Living in Liberty
Description
Today’s reading from Proverbs 8–9 and 2 Corinthians 3 invites us to reflect on what it means to live with an open heart before God. Both passages show that spiritual formation happens over time as we learn to recognize God’s wisdom, respond to His presence, and let Him reshape how we see and live.
In Proverbs 8–9, wisdom calls openly and invites people into a different way of life. The contrast is between learning to walk in the rhythm of God’s wisdom and continuing in patterns that eventually shape us away from Him. Obedience becomes more than isolated choices; it becomes part of an identity formed through repeatedly listening to the right voice.
In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul describes the freedom that comes through the Spirit when the veil is removed and we can behold the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces. This liberty gives us room to see God more clearly, respond to His presence, and be transformed gradually into the likeness of Christ.
Together, these passages invite us to notice what has been shaping our perspective. They ask us to reflect on whether something has quietly stood between us and a clear view of God, and what it means to live with greater awareness of the freedom, wisdom, and transforming presence He has already made available.
