Professor Siya Tyali is a senior academic in the field of media and communication, Full Professor of media studies and Director: School of Arts at the College of Human Sciences at UNISA. Also serves as Deputy Chair of the Film and Publication Board.
The University of South Africa (Unisa) is set to launch the African Languages International Film Festival (ALIFF), a pioneering Pan-African film festival that places African languages, cultures and stories at the heart of cinema. The three-day festival, taking place from 28 to 30 September 2026 at the Unisa Little Theatre in Pretoria, will bring together filmmakers, academics, students, industry practitioners and audiences to celebrate the richness and diversity of African storytelling.
