Alexander Csergo, a Bondi businessman, has been sentenced to three and a half years in jail, becoming the first person convicted under Australia's foreign interference laws. He accepted thousands of dollars in cash from suspected Chinese intelligence operatives known as Ken and Evelyn in exchange for preparing reports on Australia's lithium and iron ore industries, defence relationships, and the AUKUS alliance.
