The ASX 200 fell 92 points amid fading prospects for peace in the Middle East. Materials and information technology sectors were among the biggest losers, while telecommunications services was the best performing sector. The Australian dollar traded at 72.1 US cents, 110 yen and $1.23 New Zealand dollars.
