Episode Details

Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents “The Caylin Matter, Part 1,” originally broadcast on CBS Radio on January 2, 1956. This is episode 296 and the opening chapter of a five-part serial, starring Bob Bailey as freelance insurance investigator Johnny Dollar.

Sent from Hartford to Los Angeles, Dollar investigates the reported death of Eddie Caylin in a burning automobile—and the questions surrounding a recently issued $5,000 double-indemnity policy. Written by Les Crutchfield and directed by Jack Johnstone, this first installment sets an apparently routine claim on a decidedly uneasy course.

Yours Truly Johnny Dollar presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
