Back to EpisodesFormer US Ambassador to NATO Nicholas Burns
Description
25 years ago this week, America and the world changed forever. The 9/11 attacks shocked people everywhere, and prompted an outpouring of global sympathy, with NATO for the first and only time in its history invoking Article 5, that an attack on one is an attack on all. Today, America's standing appears very different. Nicholas Burns has held many senior positions within the US government, most recently as US Ambassador to China. On September 11 2001, he was America's Ambassador to NATO when Article 5 was first invoked.
Also on today's show: Peter Ricketts, UK Government’s Special Envoy for the historic loan of the Bayeux Tapestry; David Cohen, former US Ambassador to Canada
