Cham, who leads product at Moca Network, argues that stored personal data has become a liability and that a consented, reusable, revocable credential is the asset that replaces it. Reusable credentials do not remove the first trusted check. They remove the repeat, which is where the cost, the drop-off and the breach surface all live. Every EU member state must offer a digital identity wallet by December 2026. The practical advice is to pick one claim such as over-18 or KYC-passed and pilot it now rather than wait for every state to be ready. Deepfake detection is a race defenders lose by design. The durable answer is verification at the source, with banks, telcos, games and marketplaces attesting to what they actually know. Agent identity is still open research. Operator-linked delegation, where a human or organisation extends scoped, revocable authority to an agent, is what ships today.
