Victorian work-from-home laws face High Court challenge

Victorian work-from-home laws face High Court challenge

Published 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Description
Victoria's work-from-home legislation is expected to pass Parliament this week with last-minute amendments, giving most employees the right to work from home two days a week starting September 2025. Victorian business groups are preparing a High Court challenge, claiming the legislation is unconstitutional and conflicts with the federal Fair Work Act. Premier Ben Carroll has introduced approximately eight of ten requested changes to address business concerns, though business groups maintain the legislation will spook investment and fail constitutional scrutiny.
