Typical 

In everyday conversation, we often use “Typical!” on its own.

And when we do, it often means:

“Of course that happened. That is exactly what I would expect.”

Very often, there’s a little annoyance, irony, or amusement in it.

Example:

Imagine you have a friend who is famous for being late.

You’re meeting at six.

At six fifteen, there’s still no sign of them.

Then your phone buzzes:

“Sorry! Leaving now.”

You look at the message and say:

“Typical.”

You don’t need to explain much more.

Their behavior fits the pattern so perfectly that one word says everything.
