We are joined by Chris—better known online as Black Red Guard (BRG)—a prominent Marxist-Leninist-Maoist (MLM) political educator and active cadre inside the St. Louis chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
To the average onlooker, the word "Maoism" conjures images of uncritical support for Deng Xiaoping's reforms, Xi Jinping, or the state-capitalist dynamics governing the modern People's Republic of China. BRG clears the deck, separating true, scientifically tested MLM from contemporary "Dengist" revisionism. He tracks how Marxism-Leninism-Maoism was actually formalized after Mao's death, growing out of the material lessons of global third-world insurgencies and the anti-imperialist vanguard of the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army.
