For this special episode of Just That Film, Ben and Charlie are joined by Medias Res creators Edwin and Delaney to tell the incredible story behind the making of Medias Res (2017).
They take us right back to how the film came together, the challenges of getting an independent feature made, and the moment disaster struck when a hard drive containing a huge amount of the movie crashed.
The footage couldn’t be recovered.
More than half of the film was potentially gone.
And then, somehow, NASA got involved. 🚀
Edwin and Delaney reveal how somebody from NASA eventually managed to recover the lost material, saving footage they thought they might never see again.
