Reiki Education has changed enormously over the years. From the 1980-90s oral tradition of hierarchy, teacher-student, strict levels and pricing, secrecy and rules. To the 2000's new Japanese lineages, historical insights, new tools. To the post covid online expansion and proliferation of schools, courses.

As a Reiki teacher this can feel threatening, difficult, like Reiki is being diluted or destroyed. Or it can be embraced as the expansion of Reiki learning, accessibility of knowledge, growth of Reiki community and acceptance.

The more people who learn Reiki, the more Reiki there is in the world. If you are a Teacher feeling threatened, frustrated, angry at the state of Reiki today, ask yourself: What is my wish for Reiki, and for people? Do I wish Reiki to be available to more people? Do I wish more people to be connected with their self-healing abilities? Do I wish for a world were Reiki is a household name?

If you answer YES to these questions, then ask yourself: How do I want to express Reiki that feels ethical and right for me? Can I find my own unique place in the world of Reiki teaching and trust the right students will find me? Is there more I can be doing given the technology, tools and information now available? And allow all Reiki teachers to find their own place, and there right students.

Be grateful for the expansion of Reiki, and the will of Reiki to grow energetically in its own way. Be grateful to all Reiki teachers everywhere and their contribution to the growth of Reiki and the connection of more and more people to their Universal life flow.
