Sometimes we know what we don’t want, but we have no idea what we do.
The Gospel of Mark, chapter 5, tells the story of a man no one could restrain. He would break every chain they tried to put on him.
He was unchained, but he still wasn’t free. He lived by himself among the tombs, tormented and cut off from everyone around him.
The miracle was that Jesus gave him peace, purpose, and a people.
He now had something to be for, rather than simply something to be against.
And he found his way home.
