Episode 151 Published 1 month ago

Description

A beautiful summer home. A bargain too good to be true. What could possibly go wrong?

This week on The Ghostly Gallery Podcast, we welcome back our friend Josh Hitchens, horror historian, actor, and playwright, to discuss Burnt Offerings (1976). Directed by Dan Curtis and starring Karen Black, Oliver Reed, and Bette Davis, this haunted-house classic follows a family whose summer getaway takes a terrifying turn as their rented mansion begins to exert a strange influence over their lives.

We explore the film’s growing sense of dread, memorable performances, and disturbing moments as the house’s beauty hides something far more sinister. From the mysterious upstairs resident to the chilling figure of the chauffeur, there’s plenty to discuss in this tale of a home that asks far too much of its guests.

Join Tracy, Bruce, and Josh for a closer look at this 1970s horror classic and subscribe to The Ghostly Gallery Podcast for more horror movie discussions, special guests, and stories from the darker side of entertainment!
