Jesus taught that marriage requires maturity and that not everyone is mature enough for married life. One sign of maturity is being prepared to have and nurture children. When God created marriage, He commanded Adam and his wife to be fruitful and multiply. Thus, one of the main goals of godly marriage is to have children. Although some marriages do not produce children, if you are considering marriage, you need to be prepared for the possibility of having children and ready to raise them in the admonition of the Lord.
