Episode Details

The 2001 Johnny Depp film From Hell is moving to the free streaming platform Tubi on September 15. Directed by the Hughes Brothers, this dark Victorian horror story features Depp as a clairvoyant investigator hunting Jack the Ripper. Although the film received mixed critical reviews upon its release, it is highlighted here as an underrated psychological thriller that explores the grim underbelly of 1880s London. The timing of this streaming debut coincides with the upcoming theatrical release of Ebenezer, another period-piece horror project starring Depp. This new film, a dark reimagining of A Christmas Carol, is scheduled to arrive in theaters in November. Together, these updates signal a renewed focus on the actor's contributions to the gothic fantasy and horror genres.
