September 5: MOTHER TERESA: Finding Jesus in the Distressing Disguise of the Poor

Published 2 weeks ago
Description

St. Teresa of Calcutta — Mother Teresa — heard God's call on a train to Darjeeling and never looked back.

A teaching sister in Calcutta, Teresa felt a second, deeper call from Jesus on a train ride in 1946: to leave the convent and serve the poorest of the poor directly. Grounded every morning in an hour of Eucharistic Adoration and daily Mass, she and her sisters carried the dying off the streets of Calcutta so no one would die unloved and alone.

"I THIRST."

Mother Teresa's challenge doesn't have to end when the episode does.
