Inside the CHARLIE KIRK M*rder Case.. The Rifle, The Rooftop & The Messages
Description
The murder case against Tyler Robinson, the man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, is officially moving to trial. Prosecutors allege Robinson fired a single rifle shot from the roof of the Losee Center into a crowd of more than 3,000 people before hiding a bolt-action rifle nearby.
Evidence presented during his 2026 preliminary hearing included surveillance footage, DNA recovered from the rifle and towel, engraved ammunition, a Dremel tool, alleged text messages, a handwritten note and statements to former roommate and romantic partner Lance Twiggs. On September 1, 2026, a Utah judge ruled there was sufficient probable cause for Robinson to stand trial on aggravated murder and related charges. Robinson pleaded not guilty, while prosecutors continue seeking the death penalty.
