Boating safety warning as warm weather arrives

NSW Maritime is urging boaties to prioritise safety this weekend as warmer weather draws more people to the waterways. Last financial year saw 17 boating fatalities, with 11 involving people who either weren't wearing life jackets or were wearing them incorrectly. Maritime officers will conduct thousands of inspections across NSW waterways in September, with penalties issued for those without proper safety equipment.
