Cubs and Brewers Split, 3 Weeks To Go

Season 9 Episode 8 Published 13 hours ago
Description
The Cubs and Brewers split a 4-game series this week at Wrigley. Cubs played well, but the bullpen wasn't good. We may have just seen the bullpen's worst 2 weeks of the entire season. Cubs have been in position to win almost every game the last couple weeks, yet the bullpen has blown game after game. Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman have led a resurgent offense that's been really fun to watch. PCA just earned his second NL Player of the Month award this season. Where's Javier Assad?! Here's to hoping his recent trip to Iowa is almost over. He may be the Cubs best pitching story of the year (sustained over the course of the season), yet he's at Triple-A while the major league bullpen continues to implode. Webb has had a couple uncharacteristic bad appearances. Zeferjahn hasn't looked as sharp as hoped. Palencia has looked bad since returning to injury (although he often doesn't look in non-save situations). Hopefully the pending additions of Cabrera, Steele, Assad will help solidify things.
