What happens when you stop just talking about Bitcoin adoption and actually start building it?

Luke and Brooke are parents of seven, entrepreneurs, homeschoolers, and the creators behind BV Bitcoin in Buena Vista, Colorado. They’re taking a completely different approach to Bitcoin adoption: turning it into a real-world treasure hunt.

Instead of overwhelming newcomers with mining, nodes, monetary theory, and technical jargon, they give people Bitcoin, send them into local businesses to spend it, and use games to teach concepts like inflation, scarcity, sound money, wallets, and seed phrases along the way.

And it’s working!

In just eight months, Luke and Brooke have onboarded roughly 25 local businesses and estimate that 60–70 people have been introduced to Bitcoin through their treasure hunts. Some businesses are now seeing meaningful Bitcoin sales, and Bitcoin is beginning to circulate from one person and business to another throughout their community.

We talk about why Bitcoin needs to be USED as money, their philosophy of “HODL and Spend,” orange-pilling without overwhelming people, teaching kids about Bitcoin and money, faith, family, incentives, local businesses, and their vision of helping other communities build their own circular economies.

This episode is a reminder that Bitcoin adoption doesn't have to start with governments or giant corporations.

It can start with you, your family, your local coffee shop and one transaction at a time.
