Story Transcript:

Sl: V mračnem, a prijetnem pubu v Ljubljani so se zbirali stalni gosti in radovedni prišleki.
En: In the dim but cozy pub in Ljubljana, regulars and curious newcomers gathered.

Sl: Vonj po pivu in okusni slovenski hrani je napolnjeval prostor.
En: The aroma of beer and delicious Slovenian food filled the space.

En: In the corner, at a wooden table, an intense poker game was underway.

Sl: Svetloba sveč je metala tople sence in nad mizami je migljalo.
En: Candlelight cast warm shadows, flickering above the tables.

Sl: Andrej, moški v svojih zgodnjih tridesetih, je vstopil s širokim nasmehom.
En: Andrej, a man in his early thirties, entered with a wide smile.

Sl: Bil je človek pustolovščin, rad je tvegal.
En: He was an adventurer at heart, fond of taking risks.

Sl: Tisti večer, poln energije, si je zamislil noro potovanje v Madrid.
En: That evening, full of energy, he dreamed of a crazy trip to Madrid.

En: But for that, he needed more money than he had in his pocket.

Sl: Nič zato; poker mu bo pomagal.
En: No problem; poker would help him.

Sl: Skočil je k mizi, kjer sta sedela Miha in Nina.
En: He jumped to the table where Miha and Nina were sitting.

Sl: Miha je bil prekaljen igralec pokra z veščinami blefiranja.
En: Miha was a seasoned poker player with bluffing skills.

En: Nina, the pub owner, was known for not tolerating nonsense.

En: "Andrej, do you want to join?" Nina asked with appropriate doubt in her voice.

Sl: Bila je skeptična, a zabavalo jo je opazovati novince v igri.
En: She was skeptical but entertained by watching newcomers in the game.

Sl: "Seveda!" je prikimal Andrej, čeprav ni imel blage ideje, kako igrati.
En: "Of course!" Andrej nodded, even though he had no clue how to play.

En: The desire for travel gave him a false sense of confidence.

Sl: Igra se je pričela. Andrej je hitro izgubil prvi krog.
En: The game began. Andrej quickly lost the first round.

Sl: Miha je z utripajočimi očmi opazoval vsak Andrjev korak.
En: Miha watched Andrej's every move with keen eyes.

Sl: "Dober poskus," je pripomnil suho.
En: "Nice try," he remarked dryly.

Sl: Toda Andrej ni obupal.
En: But Andrej did not give up.

En: He decided to stay and pretend he knew what he was doing.

Sl: Ko so karte krožile in stave naraščale, se je Andrej le smehljal in upal na čudež.
En: As the cards circulated and the bets increased, Andrej just smiled and hoped for a miracle.

En: At the final hand, the bluff was at its peak.

Sl: "Vidim!" je ponosno oznanil, prepričan v svojo taktiko.
En: "I see!" he proudly declared, convinced of his strategy.

Sl: A nato, s preveč energije, je razkril svoje karte še pred zaključkom stave.
En: But then, with too much energy, he revealed his cards before the betting concluded.
