Episode Details

The Matt Campbell era begins at Penn State as high expectations meet a favorable 2026 schedule. Can the Nittany Lions finally break through to college football’s elite under their new head coach? Zach Seyko and recruiting expert Brian Smith analyze Campbell’s Midwest roots, his proven ability to build programs, and what sets him apart from James Franklin. They debate whether Penn State is poised for an immediate playoff push or set for another rebuilding cycle, with Rocco Becht’s leadership and the strength of the defense under scrutiny.

Recruiting heats up as 5-star defensive back Nasir Richardson prepares to visit for the Penn State vs. Marshall matchup, signaling Campbell’s early success in targeting top talent from New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The hosts preview the 2028 recruiting class, discuss key local commitments like James Armstrong and Deontae Flemings, Jr. and examine Penn State’s long-term path towards consistent top-10 finishes. Will Campbell’s focus on regional recruiting and staff continuity pay off for the Nittany Lions?
