Matt Dery Says No to Sitting Travis Bazzana Down the Stretch
Published 1 month ago
Description
Guardians insider Matt Dery joins Ken and Anthony to react to the ugly loss in Toronto, and pushes back on the idea of benching Travis Bazzana despite his rough second-half slump, making the case for why Angel Henao's hot bat doesn't mean Bazzana should sit. The crew also debates whether the Guardians would be better off as a wild card team than winning the division based on potential playoff matchups, and Dery weighs in on whether Ralphy Velasquez should get a September call-up. Dery then flatly disagrees with Ken and Anthony's earlier take that a lost MLB season would be worth it for a salary cap, setting up a spirited three-way debate on competitive balance.
