Episode Details

The film In the Grey, directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill, has emerged as a major global hit on Prime Video. Despite being a significant box office failure upon its initial release, the heist thriller has successfully surpassed the popularity of Jason Statham’s action movie, Shelter. While Statham’s film enjoyed a long tenure in the streaming top ten, Ritchie’s latest project captured the fourth spot worldwide, pushing Shelter to fifth. This shift highlights a trend where action thrillers find a second life and a much larger audience on digital platforms compared to traditional theaters. Ultimately, the source illustrates how audience reception on streaming can diverge sharply from critical reviews and financial performance.
