**Episode 1287: Flock Cameras, Dirty Cops, and the Jackson Reality Check**

Clay flies solo for most of the show and then brings Andrew Gosser in for a real argument about Flock cameras and automated license plate readers.

Clay’s position is straightforward: public roads, public plates, and a city that has been the murder capital for years. He does not buy the idea that ripping the cameras out is some principled stand for liberty when the same people already carry phones and drive cars that track them. He walks through the numbers supporters actually use—missing people located, stolen cars recovered, homicides and kidnappings tied to plate hits, theft dropping in cities that installed them—and asks the only question that matters locally: how many stolen cars, missing kids, and unsolved murders are you willing to leave on the street so a handful of pervert cops can’t look up an ex?

Andrew pushes the other side hard. High-trust society is already gone. Warrantless movement logs, residential cameras, prosecutorial discretion, and the documented cases of officers using ALPR systems to stalk girlfriends and exes are not theoretical. He argues the cameras are sold as public safety while functioning as a permanent tracking tool, that errors produce wrongful stops, and that “if you’re not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about” is a dangerous slogan. They go back and forth on access controls, facial recognition claims, the difference between Flock and speeding cameras, and whether the documented abuse (dozens of officers, not thousands) outweighs the clearance and recovery numbers.

Along the way Clay explains why he no longer calls Jackson 911, tells the 2019 four-flat-tire story on I-20 at Ellis Avenue, and says he’s hitting pause on culture-rot topics for a while because talking about it has become more offensive to some listeners than the rot itself.
