The Prescott Valley Police Department, with the support of the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), reminds motorists that speeding is a leading factor in serious and fatal traffic collisions. Speeding is more than driving over the posted limit. Drivers must also travel at a speed that is safe for current traffic, weather, road, and visibility conditions. As speed increases, so does stopping distance, reaction time decreases, and collisions become more severe.
