Sk: To bola chladná jesenná sobota, keď nováčik Marek vystúpil z auta pred domom v uzavretej komunite.
En: It was a chilly autumn Saturday when the newcomer, Marek, stepped out of the car in front of the house in the gated community.

Sk: Listy na stromoch okolo neho hrali pestrými farbami – oranžová, červená, žltá – a tichým vetrom sa unášali na zem.
En: The leaves on the trees around him were playing with a variety of colors – orange, red, yellow – and were gently carried to the ground by a quiet breeze.

Sk: Vo vzduchu bolo cítiť zmenu.
En: There was a sense of change in the air.

Sk: Marekovi sa naplnilo srdce očakávaním aj nervozitou.
En: Marek's heart was filled with both anticipation and nervousness.

Sk: Práve sa sťahoval so svojou rodinou a od pondelka začína nová kapitola jeho života.
En: He had just moved in with his family, and from Monday, a new chapter of his life was to begin.

Sk: V pondelok ráno Marek dostal pochvalu za čistú učebnicu od pani učiteľky a bol to jeho prvý deň v novej škole.

Sk: Škola bola moderná, s veľkými oknami, ktoré vpúšťali svetlo do tried.

En: Children bustled through the hallways, some greeting each other, others laughing.

Sk: Marek udržiaval pohľad na podlahe a tlačil sa k stene.
En: Marek kept his eyes on the floor and pressed himself against the wall.

Sk: Našťastie, Zuzana, jeho veselá susedka, sa k nemu takmer okamžite pridala.

Sk: " Marekovi to vyčarilo úsmev na tvári.
En: Marek smiled at this.

Sk: Prikývol a nasledoval Zuzanu.
En: He nodded and followed Zuzana.

Sk: Ona ho predstavila niekoľkým spolužiakom a ukázala mu najlepšie miesta na obed.
En: She introduced him to several classmates and showed him the best places for lunch.

Sk: Keď sa školský deň pomaly chýlil k záveru, Marek sa stretol s Jankou, triednou starostkou.
En: As the school day slowly came to an end, Marek met Janka, the class president.

Sk: Zo začiatku sa zdala byť milá a priateľská.
En: At first, she seemed nice and friendly.

Sk: "Ahoj Marek, rada ťa spoznávam!
En: "Hi Marek, nice to meet you!"

Sk: " vravela, ale v jej očiach Marek zazrel niečo ako skryté výzvy.
