New project aims to demystify tribal land acquisition

Published 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Description
In Wisconsin, navigating the laws around tribal land acquisition can be extraordinarily complicated. The Great Lakes Indigenous Law Center (GLILC) is planning a comprehensive handbook to guide folks through the system. The center recently announced that it has received an approximately one hundred thousand dollar grant to make it happen. Amanda White Eagle is an associate teaching professor at the University of Wisconsin Law School and the director of GLILC. She joined our News Producer Faye Parks to describe their mission, and explain how the project exemplifies UW Law School’s commitment to “law in action.” Image courtesy: Andy Manis / University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.
