Togo is taking its first major steps towards building a national system to understand and tackle air pollution.

In this episode of Clean Air Report Ghana, host Michael Asharley speaks with Lantam Djeri-Wake, Coordinator of the Togo Air Quality Project at the country's Ministry of Environment, about efforts to establish an air quality monitoring network and implement Togo's first national air quality standards. Early monitoring has found PM2.5 levels between two and five times higher than World Health Organization guidelines, raising concerns about the health effects of polluted air.

Recorded at the Africa Clean Air Forum in Pretoria, the conversation explores what Togo's early data is revealing about sources of pollution, the challenges of expanding monitoring beyond Greater Lomé, and why cooperation with neighbouring countries will be important.
