Children spend thousands of hours in classrooms every year, but how much do we know about the air they breathe while they learn?

In this episode of Clean Air Report Ghana, host Michael Asharley speaks with Dr. Tatiana Moussou of the University of Yaoundé about her research into indoor air quality in schools in Cameroon. Her study of 10 schools examined classroom ventilation, temperature and pollutants including PM2.5 and PM10, and explored whether these conditions could affect students' health, concentration and academic performance.

Dr. Moussou discusses what her team found, how students and schools responded to the research, and what the findings could mean for school design and education policy in Cameroon and elsewhere in Africa. The conversation makes the case for looking beyond outdoor pollution and paying closer attention to an environment where children spend much of their day: the classroom.
