The SEC Is Talking About Expelling LSU | Ole Miss Hosts Them In 18 Days | Golding Speaks
Description
Fifteen SEC schools — every member except LSU — spent the last 48 hours discussing expulsion, membership probation, refusing to take the field against LSU, and a federal lawsuit against their own conference-mate. That's Ross Dellenger's reporting. Ole Miss is one of the fifteen. Ole Miss also hosts LSU in Oxford in eighteen days.
Louisville in five days. LSU in eighteen. Steven Willis breaks down what the SEC can actually do — the 48-page bylaws never use the word "expulsion," but Section 4.1.2 lets the presidents impose any other penalty they consider appropriate — plus the 72-hour clock nobody is talking about, and an on-air correction about which conference already sued its own member in federal court. Then: Pete Golding kept the defensive headset in his first opener as a head coach and told on his own defense doing it. And Jeff Brohm took the SEC's side unprompted, then named three places Louisville isn't ready.
📌 THREE THINGS 1. Expulsion, probation, refusal to play, federal suit — all four are on the table, and the bylaw language is wide open. The injunction hearing is Thursday in Baton Rouge. LSU plays Clemson Friday. An April bylaw bars roster additions after a team's first game. 2. Pete Golding is still calling the defense himself as a first-year head coach — and said Saturday's mock game gave up explosive plays to communication busts. "You can't do this and win versus top 25 teams." 3. Jeff Brohm on pros returning to college: "No, I'm not in agreement with that. I don't know if anyone is." He wants federal guidelines — and he has a player on his own roster he can't use yet.
